Ngerende island Lodge is a must place to visit for everybody. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the decor is out of this world. The service is excellent and the staff are very polite, concerned with their guests and giving guests a very personalized service. The poo overlooks the river full of hippos and one feels like they are swimming with the hippos. The different dinning places are well thought and very well set up.

Ngerende Island Lodge is located in the Ol Choro-Oirogua Conservancy, which borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The lodge is situated in a bend of the Mara river, the lodge on almost all sides. The Conservancy Olchoro includes more than 5,000 acres and consists mainly of open savanna, except along the banks of the Mara River, which are forested and an ideal habitat for wildlife. There are over 140 species of birds spotted at the lodge. To lodge are three pools, where every day crocodiles,hippos and elephants show.

Being in the Masai Mara, game driving is at the core of the offer. Ngerenede offers morning, afternoon and night drives; guided bush walks; sundowners and bush breakfasts; as well as relaxation from massages and aromatherapy; There's also a gymnasium and swimming pool. A feature of the Conservation Ranch is an exclusive project to rear the White Rhino so that they can take their place back in the Mara society to which they belong in greater numbers. Observe the Rules when in a Park for your Own Good

Parks are dangerous zones and when you are there it is imperative and important to observe all the rules and regulations set by the park that you are visiting. Most of the rules are the same in all the Kenyan national parks and game reserves.

You are not allowed to go off-road in parks unless you have confirmed sighting of a cheetah, lion, leopard or rhino. Only in this instance can you leave the road or track at the nearest point to the sighting, and then approach no more than 25 metres to the animals. Always return to the track by the way that you came. All the parks have certain well marked routes that you are allowed to follow.

No shouting, clapping or cheering nor sitting or standing on vehicles. Only a maximum of five vehicles is allowed to surround an animal at the same time. Vehicles waiting to see the sighting must wait at a distance of 100 metres. Animals are not to be chased, followed too closely or harassed by forcing them into movement or approaching the animal at closer than 25 metres.Respect the privacy of the wildlife, this is their habitat.

During the wildebeest migration visitors are not allowed out of their vehicle or to stand on vehicles at crossing points. Never block a crossing by parking too close, nor drive through the animal herds. No more than 20 vehicles are allowed at the crossing point.


Don't feed the animals, it upsets their diet and leads to human dependence and keep quiet as noise disturbs the wildlife and may antagonize your fellow visitors. Ensure you stay in your vehicle at all times, except at designated picnic or walking areas as animals can be wild and unpredictable.Leave no litter and never leave fires unattended or discard burning objects.

Respect the cultural heritage of Kenya, never take pictures of the local people or their habitat without asking their permission, respect the cultural traditions of Kenya and always dress with decorum. Stay over or leave before dusk, visitors must vacate the Park between 6.00 p.m. - 6.00 a.m, night game driving is not allowed.

If you break any of the above rules, Rangers have the legal right to impose an on-the-spot fine of KSh 10,000, have your vehicle and/or people removed from the park immediately, have the vehicle and/or people banned from the park.
