The Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara national reserve is about 1600 square kilometers in extent. Many people consider The Maasai Mara to be the richest of the Kenya Game area. The Maasai Mara has grasslands, dense bush, thickets and forests and The Mara a permanent river. At The Maasai Mara animals have no respect for bounderies and hundreds of buffalo and wildebeeste can be seen at certain times of the year as part of The Maasai Mara lies across their migration route form the The Serengeti in Tanzania. In The Maasai Mara one real feels that they are at the heart of Africa. The Maasai Mara is a fine country for wildlife such as lions and can hardly fail to see the big five, lion, elephant, buffalo and Rhino, as well as nearly every other kind of animal found in all other parks in Kenya. The Maasai Mara as established as a reserve after the Maasia tribe agreed not to graze their cattle in certain areas. Hundreds of buffalo, topi, large herds of elephants and wildebeeste roam around The Maasai mara.
